Front of postcard:
Hands across the Sea
A Happy Birthday
It is said the Land has a very long arm
And I wish that my own were as long as the Land’s
For I see you, old friend give a start of alarm!
I would then grp and shake your “Colonial” paws!
Dear Uncle
How are you getting on and how is your baby getting on.
We are having a bonfire on Tuesday.
Father bought us a lot of fireworks on Saturday which we were willing to set them of at once. For teachers rest we have Friday and Monday and have to go back school on Tuesday.
It is a pity we have no more time to collect any more wood.
With love from Norman and Lennie.
B.B . London Series No B503 printed in Germany
Claude Barlow Nov 12, 1886, would be the uncle of Norman (1904-1974) and Lennie Jolly (1906-1987) Father would be Charles Jolly. The baby would be Lester Barlow born May 1912.
There is no date on this card and no postmark.
I would guess the date is Nov 1912
