Postcard 1912

 Barlow, Will Postcard

Picture on the front of postcard is P.C. 44872 Llandudno, Happy Valley

Addressed to Mr. C.C. Barlow

                      Groton Connecticut USA

Post marked Llandudno Ju 17 12

Dear Claude,

We came here today for our annual holiday & hope to stay nearly a fortnight.

We trust that you & Gladys (is it?) are well. If you happen to have lost my address let May know & she will supply it to you. Perhaps I owe you a letter. But I have been so busy at the office. Today is Herbert’s wedding.

Love

Will

Dated 17/6/12

Notes:

Llandudno is a seaside resort in Northern Wales.

A fortnight is fourteen nights, or two weeks. ... It comes from the Old English and is literally a shortened form of fourteen nights.

This postcard was sent by Claude’s oldest brother Will. He mentions ‘we went’ but I am not sure of who went on this trip. I have several wedding pictures in this album but none are labeled. Herbert is his brother and May is his sister. I am not sure if the date for Herbert and Maude Turner Barlow’s wedding is the 16th or 17th of June 1912.
